The Frog

Since covid is back once again have had a lot time a lot to think about things from the past that I have forgotten about.  Deep, dark memories from the past that have been replaced by memes and Oasis lyrics.  Today I would like to reveal something that happened in my younger years as a child.  I could go on repressing this memory, but it is honestly time to come clean about this.

It was the around mid to late 90’s on a sultry summer day about an hour and a half north west of Jackson, Tennessee at an undisclosed state park in Hollandale, Mississippi, United States of America.  My brother and I had been staying at my grandparent’s house at the state park where my grandfather was a park ranger.  He was like the head guy in charge but I don’t know the proper title for that so we will go with park ranger.  The park we beautiful with a lake, pool, disk golf course, and a gator farm where you could feed live gators food.  Full disclosure I was terrified of those creatures.

Early one morning Grandma, grandpa, my brother, and I jumped in the car and headed north about thirty minutes to Leland, Mississippi, United States of America.  As was habit my grandmother played her Phil Collins cd’s and would sing Sussudio the entire drive. She loves him and Bruce “The Boss.”

Thirty minutes later we arrived at 415 S Deer Creek Drive E Leland, Mississippi, United States 38756 for a moment that would change my life.   Where were we?  We were at the birthplace of mother effing Kermit the Frog.  I was in awe this was where Kermit the frog was born.  One of the most iconic characters in television history.  It was an absolute honor to see the place when the little green frog was created.

This is the most I have typed in a while and honestly I am tired so I am going to go.  If you ever find yourself in Leland Mississippi please stop by this place it is a hidden gem in the armpit of Mississippi. Goodbye.
