Well well well happy Tuesday everyone I hope your week has got off to an absolutely wonderful start. I took Monday off because I was in recovery mode from a nice trip to an undisclosed lake in Arkansas. Good news is that I can’t drink like I used to, and bad news is that I can’t drink like I used to. Every hangover seems to be worse than the last and it’s really disheartening that I may be losing my fastball at this point.
Speaking of fastballs baseball, basketball, hockey, and other sports I can’t remember will be starting this week and in the next couple weeks. I would like to thank my beloved CTBC Brothers of the Chinese Professional Baseball League for being a suitable escort in this time of no American sports. Thank you CTBC Brothers but I am leaving you now for bigger and better things. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. But yes real sports are back and they will be on TV all day and I could not be more excited.
Not to brag but I am smarter than you because I started reading a book. No it’s not that normy Harry Potter wizard shit, it Stephen Hawking’s “A Brief History of Time.” I bought the book and also the audio book so I can read/listen along so I will be better able to comprehend the complex ideas that I’m sure none of you slack jaw mouth breathers would be able too. To be honest with you, this book was written for people that have no prior knowledge of time and black holes and shit like that. What I’m saying it is severely dumbed down and I can barely comprehend the first chapter. But I’ll keep pushing though as to trick myself into thinking I am getting smarter.
I did a few red wines last night am let me tell you it was a really fun. There is a big downside to doing red wine, and that is the following morning my stool is a different color, consistency, and smell than normal. I will first speak of the color. It’s like a metallic greyish hue that only appears in my toilet after drinking the red stuff. Next the consistency. It’s not solid or a splatter. It is like mud and whipping is like whipping a never-ending sharpie. Finally the smell. It is very pungent and I can honestly smell the remnants of the red wine. It burns the nostrils. It’s gross and I don’t want to talk about it anymore.
I watched a movie last night, and that movie is called, “Raising Arizona” which is a “1987 American crime comedy film directed by Joel Coen, produced by Ethan Coen.” It stars Nicolas Cage and Holly Hunter. It was a wonderful movie and really funny. I like Coen Brother’s movies because that have a lot of weird things that happen and the dialogue it always really smart and funny. Some other great movies of theirs are Fargo, The Big Lebowski, O Brother Were Art Thou?, No Country for Old Men, True Grit, and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. They have done some really good stuff.
I saw Kanye’s rambling at his rally and on twitter. Reaching out to someone and giving them a what’s up or how are you doing can go a long way. Also the people that you surround yourself with helps a lot too. The fact that he doesn’t have anyone close to him that is willing to speak up or call him on his stuff is not great.
John Lewis died last weekend and he was a true American hero and what people should strive to be in their life. He not only spoke out about racial injustice, he acted on it. The best thing you can say about is a person is that he or she made a difference in the lives of other people, and John Lewis did that. He did not give up when his friend Martin Luther King was shot to death and he did not give up when he was nearly beaten to death on Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama. He kept fighting for what was right no matter what was in his way. Big rest in peace to American hero, Civil Rights Champion, and Presidential Medal of Freedom award recipient the great Representative John Robert Lewis.
