Bender November is officially over but don’t fear, bender December is here. The time between the Wednesday before thanksgiving to New Years Day is the best time of the year. Its about a six week stretch and it is the absolute best. Everyone is nice and smiling because it is the “Holiday Season”.
There are a lot of people at my work today but the closer we get to Christmas and New Years the more people that won’t be here. And the less people that are at work means the less people that will bother me and ask me to do things. Soon it will be nice and quiet, and I won’t have to wait in line to get coffee or to make massive stinky brown in the restroom. Its great.
Unfortunately, I’m the guy that has to go get our departments Christmas tree from the mezzanine (https://puckflaps.blog/2019/08/21/mezzanine/). I am really hoping that we hire some young intern in the next year so they have to do all the grunt work that is currently all on my plate. But I guess it’s good that I’m grunt work guy because it keeps me employed.
Thanksgiving is the most wonderful holiday, after Green Day, but let’s not forget about the Tennessee football team. I don’t know if you are aware but the Vols season did not exactly get off to a blazing start with program crippling losses to Georgia State and BYU. At this point it was not looking good for ole corn bread Jeremy to make it to year three coaching.
Well you know what Jeremy whipped out that 17-inch hog and dick slapped the bottom feeders of the SEC, which was something was have not done in a long time. Ill be honest 7-5 is no where close to where our fans want to be but after that start, we will take it. Another scary thing is that there is now hope. Hope is not a good thing because it presents a situation where you can have your heart broken and your ass hammered.
Also, shout out to Eric Gray, pride of Lausanne, for absolutely breathing life into that lifeless game. He is awesome, and it’s weird what happens when you put your awesome players in position to succeed. Shout out to the seniors too, idk who the hell is going to catch passes for us next year.
Unfortunately, the BasketVols lost to Florida State on Friday but it is a good loss. Florida state is ranked 16 in the Kenpom rankings and their coach Leonard Hamilton is an awesome coach. To be honest they were up the whole game and had a ten point lead the entire time. We made a tight push towards the end, but it was too little too late. No one played great.
But the BasketVols made up for this loss by beating VCU, whom is ranked 37th in Kenpom. So, this was a good win and will be important for seeding in the NCAA tournament. Huge game winning three pointer by Lamonte Turner. Also, this game was awesome because we were tied with VUC 69-69 at the end of the game.
The titans are back. We are going to make the playoffs and win our first-round game. Yesterday was a very special day. I had a thanksgiving lunch with my parents, grandparents, and my girlfriends’ parents. I’m not going to lie it was a little awkward, but things turned out all right. I sat on the couch and drank five Miller Lite’s and crushed a metric ton on turkey and deviled eggs while watching the titans.
The game was amazing, and Ryan Tannehill is actually good and as much I have defended Mariota, Mr. Tannehill you’re my guy now. Thank you and derrick Henry for saving this season and making it fun. I made a double stuffed oatmeal cream pie in my pants when we blocked that field goal and scored a touchdown. Since 2009 the Titans are 4-18 against the Colts, so yesterday was a big freaking deal
Another thing was that the grizzlies somehow won a basketball game while playing almost none of their good players. We won without the help of Kyle Anderson, Ja Morant, Jonas Valančiūnas, and Brandon Clarke (who went out early with an injury). Also, Karl Anthony Towns is a baby back bitch and for some reason decided to shoot 10 three pointers last night. He made 1, fuck him. He seems so unlikable. Also we had 7 players in double figures.
Other than that, it was a great weekend with friends, family, and lots of booze. I think I strained my hamstring playing in my family’s annual golf tournament. I came in second. Also, another positive is that no one brought up politics over the weekend so that was nice. My uncle had a maga hat last year and gave it to my cousin who is very much on the opposite side. My cousin did not talk for the next two hours. That was fun.
I watched the movie Just Friends the other day and that movie is awesome and very funny. Anna Farris is amazing. How amazing you ask? I could watch the house bunny with the sound off.
I have a great affinity for Bob Dylan and his contributions to music. He is amazing and has changed how people think about and write music. He is the best. But he put out one of the biggest dogshit Christmas albums of all time. It is literally impossible to listen too and set Christmas music back 69 years.
