Pablo was Rich

Pablo Escobar was a Colombian drug dealer who killed thousands of people and the more I read about him the more I think he was not a good guy. I mean he blew up the Colombian department of security headquarters and blew up an airplane while it was in flight, just to name a few things. Oh and killed 3 Columbian Presidents.

The entrance to the hacienda is decorated with a replica of the Piper airplane, which transported Escobar's first shipment of cocaine to the United States.

Let’s put that aside if we can. He was rich as hell. Hacienda Nápoles, a luxuries house in Puerto Triunfo which was owned by Escobar, had a zoo with elephants, horses, ostriches, giraffes and hippos. The entrance to his estate had a plane atop the entrance arches that was a replica of the first plane he used to smuggle coke into the United States. What a dick slap in the face to the people trying to bring him down.

Also included in the was compound a private airport and a place to bull fight. You have to be loaded to have a private airport and people forget that John Travolta has one outside his house in Ocala, Florida.

Aside. How cool would it be to fly in a private jet? Now that’s livin. I was looking into taking a private jet to New Orleans but unsurprisingly it is very expensive. I did ten on it and for it to leave Memphis Thursday and bring us back Sunday.

Ok back to how rich this guy was. Well him and the cartel owned an entire island by the Bahamas to help transport drugs into the United States. According to an article in the mid 1980’s his cartel made $420 million dollars a week. Let me say that again, in the mid 1980’s his cartel made $420 million dollars a week. Freaking Forbes had him ranking for 7 years in the list of international billionaires. The write ups even say he is in the coke business.

Escobar and his cartel spent $2,500 a month on rubber bands just to hold all the bills together. Also when the Colombian government said he has to go to jail he agreed only if they would let him build his own jail. Somehow the Colombian government agreed. He was also allow to select the other prisoners who would be there with him. Escobar and the cartel lost $2.1 billon just because of rats eating the dollar bills, and they did not care.
