Jeff Carter

Jeff Carter
the chef

I went bowling last night and this guy that obviously does not know the history of bowling asked if anyone had ever scored a 300 in a single bowling match.  Accordingly I threw myself in to the ball return because I have never heard such a dumb question.  The answer to the question is no shit of course it has happened.  I could not find the exact number of certified 300 games all time but I will enlighten you to a professional bowler Jeff Carter.

Jeff Carter was born in Springfield, IL in 1969 .  He joined the PBA in 1999 and has career earnings of $441,965.00.  This is all really cool but let’s get to the 300 game part.  Jeff “the chef” Carter has bowled 112 USBC-sanctioned perfect 300 games.  In PBA events he has recorded 24 perfect games.

*More Stats about Jeff Carter:

“United States Bowling Congress’ all-time average record with a 261.7 bowled in the 2000-01 season.”

“At one time, Carter’s 112 300 games was also a USBC record. Now retired from the sport for several seasons, his more than 120 career 300s has been eclipsed, but Carter was the first to get 100.”

For those unaware the USBC is an acronym for The United Sates Bowling Congress which serves as the governing body of ten pin bowling in the United States.  They are headquartered at 621 Six Flags Drive, Arlington, Texas, U.S.  According to a chart I saw on the internet there are on average 166 recognized perfect games bowl each year.

Also according to an article I saw somewhere “The first person to bowl two recognized 300 games was Chris Batson. The first was on 4th March 1974 and the second was on the 30th June 1975. Both were bowled at Rushcutter Bowl.”

So yes many people have bowled a 300, just wait till you hear about a 900.
