Titan Up?

*I am not sure if any of the dates, scores, math, grammer, or infomation is correct.

It’s almost football time in Tennessee and by that I mean the Tennessee Titans.

Since 2016 the Titans are tied for the 11th most wins in the NFL.  Even because of this they still have only made the playoffs once since 2009.  People forget that the Titans should have probably beat the ravens in the 2008 playoffs.  The Ravens had the ball 3rd and 2 with about 2 minutes left to go with the game tied 10-10.  Joe Flacco snapped the ball clearly after the play clock expired, no flag was thrown, and thus completed a 22 yard pass to Todd Heap to setup a Matt Stover 43 yard field goal.

This was possibly the greatest Titans season since we lost in the super bowl in 1999.  We opened the season by winning 10 straight games lead by Kerry Collins. Kerry Collings also famously said the N word to teammates in a bar one time.  We were also lead by Titans all-time great head coach Jeff Fisher and the tandem running backs or Chris Johnson and LenDale White.  What fun times until we lost in the divisional round of the playoffs.  In the end it did not matter our awesome record because we lost to Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco on a missed delay of game penalty.

We should have also made the playoffs last year.  By any chance do you remember the Titans opening game of the season?  Probably not because it was Tennessee vs. Miami but let me refresh your memory.  It was the longest game in NFL history.  The game took a staggering 7 hours and 8 minutes.  There was a 4 hour lighting delay.  I honestly believe we win this game if the delays don’t screw us up.

Uhh to the other game we should have won.  It was week 5 October 7, 2018 against the Buffalo Bills.  This game literally made my eyes and my butt bleed.  If Nick Williams (WHO!) does not drop a 23 yard pass walking into the end zone we win this game.  Guys how many more games did Nick Williams play with the Titans?  If you guess more than zero you should be institutionalized.  In this dump of a game there was a combined 444 yards, four turnovers, and 6 field goals made.

If we win either of these games that final game against the Colts would not have mattered and possibly Mariota would not have had to play the previous games and get injured.  Just hopeful thinking that’s all. Our season should have not come down to the last come of the season. F the colts.

Also our backup quarterback is Ryan Tannehill who was Miami’s starting QB last year.  People are asking and no he won’t take Mariota’s job and will hopefully not have to play at all this season unless we are up by 40 which we probably will be alot.  Mariota is the man and will always be the man, until he is not.  I will not stand for Mariota slander and I will fight you if you talk ill about him.  Not only is he the nicest most beautiful human to ever walk the earth he is an insanely talented NFL quarterback.

He finally has an offensive coordinator that he is familiar with and oh yeah he has got weapons.  Also out offensive coordinator is Fred Smith’s son, yes the guy that started FedEx.  Also I get that Mariota has been hurt a lot and the last game of the year sucked having to watch Blaine Gabbert piss away out playoff hopes.  According to my sources Mariota’s injury was more serious than what we were lead to believe and was potentially career threatening.  In saying that he’s fine and is ready to dick down your favorite team.

First of all Derrick Henry looks different than any person you have ever seen play sports.  He is a monster and can also run like a deer.  There is absolutely no reason that he should not be awesome.  Last year he showed flashes of what he can actually be (thanks Jags).  If he can stay consistent and focused throughout the year the Titans will do big things. He also always dicks down the Jags every year.

Next Corey Davis he awesome we just need to throw it up to him.  Hopefully the line will be slightly better than the turnstile they last year.  I do believe that Davis is good and can have a big season we just have to get him the damn ball.  I can say all of this because I saw a few of his catches for the Titans twitter account from training camp.

Did you know that the Titans drafted a receiver this year?  Let’s take a look back on the last few receivers we drafted:

Tajae Sharpe- Punched a guy in the face at a bar because he said he was going to be a backup, possibly decent.

Dorial Green-Backham- Already traded his bum ass away.  He had all the athletic gifts in the world but there is nothing between his ears.

Justin Hunter- Wanted to like him because go Vols but didn’t workout

The Future

This AJ Brown guy is a different tier of WR than we have had in a long while.  His ceiling Derrick Mason (Titans WR not the Vandy Head coach) and his floor is Drew Bennett.  He played on an Ole Miss team that stunk and still averaged 110 yards a game is final season which was up 6 yards from the previous season in which he average 104!  The guy is an absolute stud.  He holds the Ole Miss records of career receiving yards, single season receiving yards, single game receiving yards, and single season receptions.  He is amazing that is all.

Also shout out to Taylor Lewan.  All your “dad” stuff was barely cool when you were actually playing, now you just look like an idiot.

Let’s take a look at the records and coaches since 2008.

2009: 8-8 Fisher

2010: 6-10 Fisher

2011: 9-7 Munchak

2012: 6-10 Munchak

2013: 7-9 Munchak

2014: 2-14 Whisenhunt

2015: 3-13 Whisenhunt and Mularkey

2016-2018: 9-7 Mularkey and Vrabel

People forget that Whisenhunt is a terrible coach and went 3-20 with the Titans.

Finally the Titans make it back to the playoffs in 2017.  We were facing off against the Chiefs and they had a quarterback on the bench that would go on the throw 50 touchdowns the following year.  So the obviously started Mahomes right? Nope.  Alex Smith come on down (hope your leg is ok).  The Titans were getting there wieners kicked in until the play of the game happened where we knocked out Travis Kelce.  With Kelce hurt the Titans went to the locker room for halftime down 21-3.  The Titans outscored their opponent 19-0 in the second half and secured their first playoff win since 2003!

The next week we would play the Patriots and would end up losing 14-35.  Should out to Corey Davis for catching two touchdowns.  I attempted to convince my brother to go to the game up in New England and thank the lord he said no.

So to this season I don’t really know what to think.  Thinking positively it feels like a 9-7 or 8-8 record but our schedule seems hard and with Lewan out for the first four it won’t be any easier.  Also if things start to go south during the season all the Mariota haters are going to come out of the twitter bushed to say hatful things about the golden god.  Hopefully Mariota balls out proving he is the guy.  All our weapons start to click and out defense can keep people from scoring.

Opening with the Browns while the entire world is riding them like Seabiscuit is not ideal.  We have a ton of tough games tough out the season besides the Browns.  We play the Colts twice who we never beat, the Falcons, Chargers, Panthers, Chiefs, and Saints.

Also shoutout to a few Titans Keith Bulluck, Finnegan who got his ass kicked by that Texans receiver, Albert Haynesworth get well soon, Jermaine Kearse, and Rob Bironas. Also shoutout a few of the forgotte
