National Mustard Museum

The national mustard is located at 7477 Hubbard Ave, Middleton, WI.  The museum was started in 1986 with its founder Barry Levenson who was a mustard enthusiast.  The museum opened to the public in 1992.  It has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Food Network, HGTV’s The Good Life, and numerous publications.  

How many different mustards do you think they have there?  Well you are wrong there are over 5,300 kinds from 60 different countries.  Admission on free to the museum.  They also tasting in the gift shop. Don’t forget about that when you visit beautiful Middleton, WI!

It also boasts a number of very exciting exhibits such as The Great Wall of Mustard, The Gibbons Collection (which is a collection of antique mustard pots), and one of the newest collections Canada is the World’s Mustard. 

If that doesn’t knock your socks off the museum also has numerous attractions in addition to its collections.  They have the Mustardpiece Theatre which puts on mustard themed theater such as the Sound of Mustard.  They also have Food Quiz games and Mrs. Mustard’s kitchen in which you can learn how to add mustard to your everyday diet. 

According to them, “Did you know that mustard is actually quite good for you? Tests have shown that eating a modest amount of strong mustard with a meal tends to increase metabolism. Shoot, the English use mustard to relieve stress and actually bathe in it to soak away tension and fatigue.”  Yeah the only think im bathing in mustard will be my chicken tenders in honey mustard.
